The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (Tri-County) is seeking a driven, innovative, and dynamic individual to join our team as our Economic Development Planner!

Tri-County is centrally located in Lansing, the state capital of Michigan, around the corner from Michigan State University and home to a variety of recreational amenities, entertainment options, and diverse urban and rural living choices. Applicants should have a minimum of four years’ professional experience directly related to community and/or economic development; municipal, urban, or regional planning; or related fields.

Primary responsibilities include developing, managing, and updating the region's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and related plans; maintaining the Economic Development District designation and U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) program eligibility for the agency; coordinating meetings of stakeholders, maintaining committee membership, and facilitating the setting of goals and project development in support of the CEDS; managing federal, state, and other grant-funded programming for the agency and prepares and submits grant-required reporting documentation; coordinating regional economic data collection and develops/maintains data resources, tools, and platforms; and other economic development functions as needed.
