Lansing, Mich. – The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (Tri-County) is pleased to introduce their newest addition to the team, Valonda Sesi, as the agency’s marketing and community engagement manager. In this role, she will coordinate all communications and outreach activities for Tri-County, including marketing strategies, social media presence, publications, events, and public education and engagement initiatives.
Originally from Southeast Michigan, Sesi graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Oakland University in 2021. She began her career in the automotive industry as a brand and strategy execution intern for Cadillac. Sesi’s most recent experience has been in the hospitality and finance industries as a marketing coordinator at the MGM Grand Detroit and First National Bank of America. In these roles, she distributed marketing communications, created and executed successful marketing campaigns, and planned various promotional events.
“As a Michigan native, I’m passionate about this state and thrilled to join an organization that helps make an impact on our capital region,” said Sesi. “I’m eager to unite my career values and background in marketing to educate and engage the community. Being a part of Tri-County and actively contributing to strengthening our region’s economic, transportation, and natural resources for generations to come is an incredible opportunity.”
“Valonda’s energy and new perspective is going to bring a fresh outlook on our communications strategy and public engagement initiatives,” said Executive Director Jim Snell. “We are thrilled to have her join the Tri-County team and showcase her diverse private sector experience and excitement for connecting with our community.”
