Lansing, Mich. – The Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (Tri-County) is pleased to introduce their newest addition to the team, Samantha Fountain, CEcD, as the agency’s manager of economic programming. Fountain will primarily develop and implement the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and identify priority economic development programming and planning initiatives. She will also assist local communities and organizations in navigating federal grant opportunities, cultivating cross-sector regional partnerships, and facilitating the agency’s Regional Economic Collaborative committee, among other technical, administrative, and data-related duties for the community development program.
Fountain brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having worked in the economic development field for over five years. Her diverse experience includes counseling small businesses, managing a busy corridor improvement authority, and overseeing grant programming. She holds an MBA in Public Administration and is a Certified Economic Developer through the International Economic Development Council. Fountain's professional journey has seen her serve on numerous boards, including the Swartz Creek City Council, the GST Michigan Works Workforce Board, the Michigan Economic Developers Association Annual Meeting Committee, and the Miracle League of Greater Flint.
